Giulia, a young victim of violence, falls in love and seems to be reborn under the gaze of the one who, until then, had never considered her. In her small Apulian town, her floral Sunday dress worn on a weekday does not go unnoticed. A mysterious murder also occurs, upsetting Albizzone’s tranquility. Yet, as always, the pharmacist-priest-mayor triumvirate seems to already have the solution. The culprit has already been brought to justice. Or maybe not? Grappling with the distrust of the inhabitants, Basset, an American commissioner, and Cacace, an Italian marshal close to retirement, will compete to solve their first case together, giving way to a lovely friendship based on mutual respect and esteem. A journey inside the characters’ psyche, in an interweaving web of multiple points of view that describe the typical customs of a small reality of the 80s Southern Italy, in which the light becomes an essential character of the story, capable of exposing the deepst emotions and disrupting hasty judgments.
